Following the successful completion of the first three Anniversaries Celebration events, namely the Walkathon, Gratitude Dinner and Jesuit Education Forum, we are pleased to report to you that an overall attendance of more than 3,500 alumni, students, parents, school staff members and friends has been recorded. We also saw ample handshakes, smiles and hugs on campus and social media, all being ceremonious signs of brotherhood, reunion and bonding.
In terms of fundraising, we have only netted a sum of HK$20 million (pledged and received) as donations thus far. Way below the $60-million target, which is indispensable to the continuance of small class teaching and whole person development programmes in the two Wah Yans in the next 5 years, we are appealing to you for support and dissemination of this important message.
The finale of our Anniversaries Celebration programmes will be the Fundraising Concert, to be held on Saturday, 1st August 2015 at 8:00 pm at the Hong Kong Coliseum. Our school orchestras, choirs, parents, alumni, and Jesuit Fathers will showcase their very best on stage. What’s more encouraging, our renowned alumnus Mr Hacken Lee and distinguished celebrity Ms Agnes Chan will also perform together with our young Wahyanites.
