On behalf of the past students’ associations of Wah Yan College Hong Kong and Wah Yan College Kowloon, we are writing to cordially invite you to attend a Mass and tea party on 7 November (Saturday) 2009 in celebrating the Golden Jubilee of ordination of our beloved Fr Deignan.
Fr Alfred J. Deignan, S.J. has been involved throughout the years in the education and development of generations of young people in Hong Kong. He was the Vice-Principal of Wah Yan College Hong Kong from 1962-1968 and as Principal from 1968-1970. After that, he took up the position of Warden in Ricci Hall, University of Hong Kong from 1970-78. From 1978-1992, he was the Principal of Wah Yan College Kowloon. In recent years, Fr Deignan has been engaged in the moral and ethical development of teachers and students. With a group of educationalists, he founded the Hong Kong International Institute of Educational Leadership in 1997 and has been the chairman of the council since then.
This year is the 50th Anniversary (Golden Jubilee) of the Ordination of Fr Deignan. The two Past Students’ Associations have arranged a tea gathering and Mass, and we hope that you can join this very special occasion.
